We're hiring a Senior Data Engineer in Paris, Île-de-France to build and scale data infrastructure using Python, DBT, and PostgreSQL for an AI-driven ClimateTech startup applying generative AI to materials discovery. This is a well-funded (€5M+) early-stage startup, developing technology that directly reduces CO₂ emissions in carbon-intensive industries, with strong scientific and commercial momentum.

You'll work closely with the CTO, ML engineers, and scientists to turn complex data into production-ready systems that power ML and LLM applications.

Why This Is Worth Your Time

  • Own the data engineering foundations behind cutting-edge AI and ML systems

  • Work at the intersection of data, science, and generative AI

  • Build core infrastructure from early stage, not maintain legacy pipelines

  • Equity (BSPCE) in a mission-driven ClimateTech company tackling real-world impact

What You'll Do

  • Design and build scalable data pipelines in Python for simulation, text, and experimental data

  • Develop DBT-driven transformations and analytics layers on PostgreSQL

  • Create internal data tools enabling ML, LLM, and scientific workflows

  • Implement secure, production-grade data storage to support AI pipelines

  • Define data governance, lineage, and quality standards

  • Collaborate with DevOps on cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP)

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • Strong experience as a Senior Data Engineer using Python in production

  • Hands-on experience with DBT, PostgreSQL, and modern data modeling

  • Experience building data infrastructure for ML or AI-driven products

Nice-to-haves:

  • Exposure to ML pipelines, LLM systems, or AI infrastructure

  • Experience working with scientific or experimental data

Practical Bits

  • Location: Paris, Île-de-France (flexible working environment)

  • Salary: €70,000 - €100,000 + equity (BSPCE)

  • Benefits: Alan Blue health insurance, standard French PTO

  • Start: ASAP

If you're a Senior Data Engineer who wants real ownership, technical depth, and the chance to build AI-powered data infrastructure with tangible climate impact, apply now or book a short intro call this week.
