We are seeking a Java Developer to join a dynamic team delivering cutting-edge solutions within the defence and security sectors.

You will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining the critical backend infrastructure that supports vital services. This is a unique opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects, contributing to real-world impact within a hybrid and flexible working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust, scalable backend systems using modern technologies and best practices
  • Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through to deployment and testing
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, front-end developers, and QA
  • Mentor and support junior developers to foster team growth and technical excellence

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in software development with a strong focus on Java backend development and its ecosystem (e.g. Spring Boot, Maven)
  • Proven ability to design, develop and deploy scalable backend systems
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, deployment technologies and cloud platforms such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in Agile environments is preferred
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the highest level of UK Government security clearance
  • UK citizenship is essential due to security clearance requirements
