Field Service Engineer - Electrical Bias

Role Summary:
The Field Service Engineer plays a key technical and ambassadorial role supporting the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of advanced marine propulsion and power systems across naval, commercial marine, superyacht, and land-based sectors. The role involves hands-on service activities, fault finding, and diagnostics of electrical switchboards and power management systems, working both independently and within teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Comply with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
Commission, service, repair, and install propulsion and power systems, including IPMS/AMS and switchboards on vessels.
Perform fault diagnosis using traditional and PC-based tools, root cause analysis, and technical reporting.
Provide emergency on-call support as part of a rota.
Share knowledge and support team development.
Implement continuous improvement and adhere to company processes.
Manage stock control of parts and equipment under care.
Occasionally perform workshop duties and provide in-field technical guidance to others.
Travel extensively within the UK and Republic of Ireland, with occasional overseas travel including training and deployment under CONDO arrangements.
Maintain high standards of communication, professionalism, and discipline expected of a blue-chip employer.
Candidate Profile:
Relevant electrical engineering qualification or demonstrable equivalent industry experience.
Strong technical competence in marine propulsion/power products, electrical switchboards, and diagnostics.
Ability to use PC-based diagnostic tools and traditional methods.
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to travel extensively, including overseas assignments.
Physically capable of demanding fieldwork.
Proficient in MS Office and technical report writing.
Full, clean driving licence and current passport essential.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
Commitment to attaining and maintaining full MoD Security Clearance and CONDO training.
