An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager to join a well-established procurement team in Peterborough.
You'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of raw materials and ingredients, managing supplier relationships and category strategies across the UK, Europe, US, and China. This is a strategic, stakeholder-facing role offering scope for development and impact.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage categories including commodities, premixes, amino acids, phosphates, and limestone.
- Develop and implement category strategies to deliver value and minimise supply risk.
- Negotiate contracts and lead tenders using tools such as ScanMarket.
- Build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams, resolving supply challenges.
- Monitor supplier performance and market trends to drive improvement and innovation.
About you:
- Experienced in procurement or category management, ideally in raw materials, ingredients, or manufacturing/agriculture.
- Strong negotiator with a track record of cost savings and robust contract management.
- Able to manage multiple categories, prioritise effectively, and work collaboratively across regions.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, ambitious mindset.
