An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager to join a well-established procurement team in Peterborough.

You'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of raw materials and ingredients, managing supplier relationships and category strategies across the UK, Europe, US, and China. This is a strategic, stakeholder-facing role offering scope for development and impact.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage categories including commodities, premixes, amino acids, phosphates, and limestone.
  • Develop and implement category strategies to deliver value and minimise supply risk.
  • Negotiate contracts and lead tenders using tools such as ScanMarket.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams, resolving supply challenges.
  • Monitor supplier performance and market trends to drive improvement and innovation.

About you:

  • Experienced in procurement or category management, ideally in raw materials, ingredients, or manufacturing/agriculture.
  • Strong negotiator with a track record of cost savings and robust contract management.
  • Able to manage multiple categories, prioritise effectively, and work collaboratively across regions.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, ambitious mindset.
