A leading technology and engineering company specialising in defence systems is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join its growing software engineering team. Key Responsibilities
Build and test software to support core products and internal systems
Produce and maintain software build and test specifications
Work collaboratively across teams to improve the testability and quality of software
Liaise with internal stakeholders, customers, and technical partners on software-related matters
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and practices
Undertake additional project or testing tasks as required by management
Essential Skills and Experience
Technical background with a strong understanding of the software engineering lifecycle, particularly test and integration
At least 1 year of practical experience testing software for PCs running Windows
Experience writing test plans, specifications, and reports
Knowledge of scripting or programming languages to assist with automated testing and builds
Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office
Desirable Skills
Experience in building software and software installers
Previous work in a technical or engineering organisation
Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and overseas to support testing and deployment activities
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
