We are seeking a Java Developer to join a dynamic team delivering cutting-edge solutions within the defence and security sectors.
You will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining the critical backend infrastructure that supports vital services. This is a unique opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects, contributing to real-world impact within a hybrid and flexible working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable backend systems using modern technologies and best practices
- Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through to deployment and testing
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, front-end developers, and QA
- Mentor and support junior developers to foster team growth and technical excellence
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in software development with a strong focus on Java backend development and its ecosystem (e.g. Spring Boot, Maven)
- Proven ability to design, develop and deploy scalable backend systems
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, deployment technologies and cloud platforms such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS
- Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in Agile environments is preferred
