Trade Compliance Officer
Location: Enfield
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £55,000 Per Annum
We are seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Officer to join a well-established organisation based in Enfield. This is a key role within the wider Compliance function, working closely with Legal, Sales, Programme, Service Support, and Procurement teams to ensure the business operates in full accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
This position would suit a compliance professional with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management, and international trade considerations, who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
The Role
As Trade Compliance Officer, you will support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company's compliance management systems. You will provide practical guidance across the business, ensuring policies, procedures, and contractual commitments meet regulatory and ethical standards.
You will work closely with the wider Compliance team to identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, commercial, and reputational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Data Protection and Anti-Bribery legislation
- Support adherence to corporate ethics and compliance policies across all departments
- Provide guidance and advisory support on compliance-related matters
- Conduct due diligence on third parties and support transaction risk assessments
- Assess compliance-related contractual matters in the UK and internationally
- Support the development, implementation, and review of compliance policies and processes
- Complete Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and maintain processing records
- Respond to subject access requests and data protection queries
- Assist with internal and external audits where required
- Support compliance training initiatives and promote a culture of compliance across the business
- Investigate potential instances of non-compliance and support corrective action processes
- Compile compliance reports and support senior management with governance requirements
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a broad compliance or trade compliance role
- Strong understanding of the UK Bribery Act 2010, GDPR, and Data Protection Act 2018
- Working knowledge of sanctions regimes, corruption, money laundering, and financial crime risks
- Experience conducting due diligence and risk assessments
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organised, structured, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong integrity and professional judgement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
