Junior PLC / Automation Engineer

A growing engineering team specialising in CO₂ recovery and biogas upgrading systems is looking to add a hands-on PLC / Automation Engineer to their team.
This role sits within an industrial project environment - you'll be developing control software, testing systems, and supporting commissioning of real plant installations.
🎯 What You'll Be Doing
Developing PLC software (Siemens TIA Portal / STEP 7)
Designing and configuring HMI systems (WinCC)
Supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
Assisting with commissioning of industrial energy systems (~15% travel)
Working closely with process, mechanical and commissioning engineers
Contributing to continuous improvement of automation standards
This is a practical role where you will see your code run on real installations.
🛠 What We're Looking For
2-4 years' experience in PLC / Automation Engineering
Hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200 / S7-1500 preferred)
Experience with WinCC or similar HMI platforms
Exposure to FAT / SAT testing
Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Profibus, Modbus)
Ability to read electrical diagrams and P&IDs
Strong English skills (Dutch is a plus)
Experience in energy, manufacturing, process, water treatment or similar industrial environments is beneficial.
