Senior Hardware Design Engineer (PCB Design)
Location: Essex, UK
Salary: £55,000 - £63,000 + Relocation Support

We are looking for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer with a strong PCB design background to join a growing engineering team developing high-performance electronic products. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and development of complex hardware systems while relocating to Essex, working within a collaborative and technically driven environment.

The role is particularly suited to engineers who enjoy owning PCB designs from concept through to production, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and providing technical guidance where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex PCB layouts and schematics using Altium Designer

  • Lead hardware design activities across the full product development lifecycle

  • Deliver high-speed PCB designs, considering signal integrity, power management and EMI/EMC

  • Work closely with software, mechanical and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product integration

  • Support prototype bring-up, debugging and validation using lab equipment

  • Contribute to design reviews and technical decision making

  • Support and mentor junior engineers where required

Experience Required

  • Strong experience in PCB design and schematic capture

  • Proficiency using Altium Designer

  • Experience designing complex, high-speed electronic systems

  • Understanding of signal integrity, power management and EMI/EMC

  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams

  • Comfortable supporting hardware through concept, prototype and production
