Electronics Engineer - Contract

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join a highly advanced engineering environment working on cutting-edge defence and security technology. This is a full-time onsite contract role based in Cambridge, offering the opportunity to work on complex, real-world challenges from concept through to delivery.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists, developing innovative solutions across a wide range of projects, from early-stage proof of concept through to fully functional prototypes.
The Role
You will take ownership across the full product lifecycle, including requirements capture, design, development, testing and delivery. The work is varied, fast-paced and technically challenging, with a focus on electronics design, testing, and system-level hardware integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electronic hardware from concept through to production
- Perform circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and prototyping
- Conduct component-level fault finding, repair, and modification of complex electronic systems
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on system architecture, interfaces, and hardware selection
- Support rapid prototyping and iterative development of innovative electronics solutions
Experience Required
We are interested in engineers with experience across several of the following areas:
- High-speed electronics design and testing
- RF and microwave electronics design and simulation
- Analog and digital circuit design
- PCB design, schematic capture, and component selection
- Signal processing and system-level hardware integration
- Testing, validation, and troubleshooting of complex electronics systems
About You
- Strong academic background in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering complex hardware solutions
- Hands-on problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a technically challenging, collaborative environment
