An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior RF Engineer to join a well-established technology business specialising in advanced radar, surveillance, and maritime systems.

This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge RF and microwave products in a highly technical engineering environment, supporting the development of next-generation systems used globally.

The Role

As a Senior RF Engineer, you will take ownership of key RF and antenna development work packages, supporting design, testing, manufacture, and product improvement activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading RF and antenna development projects internally and with external partners

  • Designing and maintaining RF / microwave modules and antenna systems

  • Supporting product upgrades, redesigns, and obsolescence management

  • Creating and verifying technical requirements and specifications

  • Providing technical support to production, supply chain, suppliers, and customers

  • Supporting manufacturing issues through fault finding, trend analysis, and root cause investigation

  • Managing small technical work packages including planning and estimates

  • Ensuring engineering quality standards and documentation are maintained

About You

You will be a hands-on RF engineer with strong practical and theoretical knowledge, ideally gained in a high-tech manufacturing or defence-related environment.

Essential experience:

  • PCB design at microwave frequencies

  • RF component selection (amplifiers, LNAs, filters, mixers, PLLs etc.)

  • RF system design / cascade analysis

  • Use of RF test equipment including VNAs and spectrum analysers

  • Antenna theory, design, and testing

  • Design for manufacture / design for test

  • Experience supporting production environments

  • Strong communication skills and team-focused attitude

Desirable experience:

  • Altium PCB design

  • Antenna / EM simulation tools

  • Radar, communications, or related systems knowledge

  • MATLAB or Python for test automation

  • EMC / regulatory compliance

  • Systems engineering or requirements management
