CNC Turner

Location: Near Wymondham, Norfolk

Salary: Up to £20.00 per hour DOE + Overtime

Hours: Monday – Friday

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

 

We are recruiting an experienced CNC Turner to join a well-established growing precision engineering SME based near Wymondham.

 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced machinist who enjoys variety. The business manufactures precision components for customers across aerospace, oil & gas, motorsport and other specialist engineering sectors, with work ranging from volume production through to complex one-off components.

 

The Role

 

You will be responsible for setting, operating and programming Mazak CNC turning machines using Mazatrol, working from engineering drawings to manufacture components to the required specifications and tolerances.

 

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Programming, setting and operating Mazak CNC lathes
  • Programming using Mazatrol controls
  • Producing both one-off and batch/volume components
  • Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
  • Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds
  • Carrying out in-process inspection and maintaining quality standards
  • Working across a varied range of components and materials
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the machine shop

 

What We're Looking For

 

Mazak and Mazatrol programming experience are essential for this position.

 

You will need:

  • Strong CNC turning experience
  • Proven Mazak machining experience
  • Proven Mazatrol programming experience
  • Ability to program, set and operate CNC lathes independently
  • Confidence working from engineering drawings
  • Experience within precision engineering or manufacturing
  • A good understanding of machining tolerances and inspection
  • A full driving licence and your own transport due to the location
