About this Composite Design Engineer Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Composite Design, you will join an experienced and collaborative team, working on the conceptual and detailed design of composite and metallic components for high-performance applications. This is a role for a motivated, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys problem-solving, thrives under tight deadlines, and takes pride in precision and creativity. You will contribute to all stages of the design process, from concept through to manufacturing, while ensuring compliance with company quality standards.

What is expected of you as a Composite Design Engineer with our client?
- HND, BEng, or equivalent in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a relevant industrial environment
- Proficient in NX11 or Catia V5/V6
- Working knowledge of CAD surfacing tools and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
- Understanding of manufacturing techniques for composite components and tooling
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities of a Composite Design Engineer with our client
- Design and CAD modelling of composite components (NX preferred, Catia considered)
- Analyse and interpret customer requirements
- Prepare detailed designs and laminate books
- Collaborate with Aerodynamic and Stress departments to ensure compliance with design intent and structural integrity
- Drive continuous development of designs and processes to maintain best practices
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards (AS 9100D)
- Support the Test team in exploring and validating technical solutions
