Key Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in automotive or a similar industry.
  • Strong foundation in electronic hardware design and embedded systems.
  • Experience designing products for manufacture.
  • Familiarity with working to deadlines and strong communication skills.

Highly Desirable Experience:

  • Microcontroller interfaces and communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • Power supply design (linear and switched-mode).
  • Analogue circuit simulation and performance prediction.
  • PCB design, layout, and routing.
  • Design for automotive environments, reliability, and qualification (e.g., EMC and environmental testing).

Desirable Skills:

  • Functionally safe hardware development.
  • Reliability analysis (e.g., FMEA) and design for manufacture and test.
  • Writing simple hardware test software.
  • Qualification in electronics engineering or a closely related discipline.

Tools & Lab Experience:

  • Schematic capture and PCB layout software.
  • SPICE circuit simulation tools.
  • Use of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, DMMs, etc.).
  • Soldering of through-hole and SMT components.
