We're recruiting on behalf of a growing engineering and manufacturing business in Newmarket that has recently secured several major projects and is expanding its production team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking company, working on bespoke machinery and engineering solutions in a varied, hands-on role.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for assembling and installing mechanical systems and components, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while working from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and install mechanical components and systems. Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Carry out fabrication and modification of steel components where required. Conduct quality inspections throughout the build process. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues. Work closely with engineers and production colleagues to deliver projects on time. Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
About You
Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or within a mechanical assembly environment. Experience working with fabricated or steel components. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Relevant mechanical qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
